Mark Theunissen

Developer and Systems Architect

O Knights of Ni, you are just and fair, and we will return with a shrubbery.
King Arthur

Mark took a lead role in architecting The Economist’s migration to Drupal, one of the largest projects of its kind. As an encore, Mark led the migration of ICANN.org from 38072 multilingual documents into a coherent, speedy Drupal 7 site. He has also developed Drupal sites for EA Games, Unilever, ITV, Channel 4, and Orange.

Mark is fanatical about devops and automation, having created testing and continuous integration platforms in the cloud using tools such as Hudson, Selenium, and The Grinder. He loves performant, robust, reusable code – preferably all open source.

In addition to being a Drupal guru, Mark has a broad set of development skills, with a lifetime of experience coding in languages like C++, JavaScript and Python. He has cultivated a truly international outlook through living and working in Zurich, London, New York, and Durban. Mark has a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Natal.

When he’s not developing, Mark can be found surfing, snowboarding, backpacking or practicing yoga.
