About I Make Mistakes

At I Make Mistakes, users can post, read, and rate mistakes. It’s a social experiment we designed entirely for fun.

Designing the website

The time-killer

Like its contemporaries grouphug.us and justcurio.us, I Make Mistakes is esentially a time-killer. Its users will browse the site for awhile between phone calls or while dutifully ignoring an important class lecture or business presentation. With that in mind, we designed I Make Mistakes to be extremely simple and intuitive. We wanted users to browse mistakes with rapid-fire single clicks—no complicated forms or typing required.

Improving the poll interface

Unlike most sites with a voting mechanism, I Make Mistakes’ voting/ranking system operates using only one click to perform two functions at once: vote “yes” or “no”; if the user votes “yes,” they can rank the severity of the mistake. Users can rapidly browse and rank mistakes with a single mouse-click. Give it a shot!

A work in progress

We’re working on a number of features to improve the functionality of I Make Mistakes. All of this will be done in our spare time, which is increasingly in short supply!
