JanRain

JanRain declares itself “creators of fine software products,” and we happen to agree. JanRain has written a number of software libraries for OpenID, a rapidly growing single sign-on standard. Without their software libraries, we would not be able to host our own OpenID server (GetOpenID.com).

We added raindrop over the letter I to serve as a (hopefully) clever mnemonic. Our intention was to plant the company’s name in the viewer’s memory by associating the raindrop with JanRain.

JanRain’s offices are fashionably located inside a renovated water tower in Portland, Oregon. The water tower mounted on the A therefore serves to identify the company’s headquarters.
