Tim Kadlec recently teamed up with Akamai to create a short, informative video about defining and maintaining a performance budget. It’s a great introduction to the concept, clearly explaining both the technical and organizational challenges of including performance within the development process. It’s less than 5 minutes long so check it out:
Set your own budget
It can be daunting to consider all the hurdles that must be overcome before a performance budget is successfully enforced, but it is worth the trouble. Your users will be happier and more likely to achieve their goals, plus less money will be spent on mobile data. These are just a few reasons that frontend performance is so important.
